

I tried the key combination windows key+ctrl+shift+b. Upon starting all was well untill the sign in screen at which point the display goes blank and stays that way. I waited several minutes to see if it might come back.

As it was doing its thing the display changed to an unreadable state, horozontally torn.

Went to device manager and proceeded with the update driver. I downloaded the driver and as you expected a manual install was needed. Hi Paul, we were doing great untill the graphics driver. If your adapter's hardware ID is not listed, do not try to install the driver. Here is the list of graphics adapter hardware ID's supported by this driver.yours should be one of the 1st four listed. I may have errored in typing dv6000, but the driver was good for both models. Sorry that graphics driver caused such havoc with your PC.
